Our Process
Consultation
Every project begins with a personal consultation—either in-person (Rockland County, NY) or virtually—where you’ll meet the team. During this time, we’ll:
-
Discuss your event details (date, location, guest count, timeline, and more)
-
Explore your vision, including colors, themes, style, and any special elements like enclosures, ribbon, wax seals, or liners
-
Review printing options, from digital to letterpress and specialty finishes
-
Show samples of our portfolio and materials (for in-person consultations)
After the consultation, we’ll prepare a custom proposal and quote within one week. The proposal will outline your selected package, estimated costs, and a production timeline. Staying on schedule requires timely feedback and communication from both sides.

Design Process
To begin, we require a signed proposal and 50% deposit of your selected package. This secures your design time and covers research, materials, and samples (if applicable).
Invitation Design:
-
We create 2 initial concepts for your invitation card.
-
Each package includes up to two rounds of revisions on the selected design. Additional revisions are available for a flat fee.

Coordinating Suite Items:
Once the invitation design is finalized, we design the full suite according to your choice of package:
-
Outer envelopes (return address & guest addressing)
-
Response cards & envelopes
-
Additional inserts (reception, accommodations, directions, etc.)
-
embellishments
Proofs of all pieces are sent via email for review, with up to two rounds of revisions included in the design chosen. Mocked-up samples can be ordered if the timeline allows (excluding specialty printing).
Production & Assembly
Final production begins once the remaining balance and final design approvals are received.
-
All printing is handled by trusted vendors; we do not print in-house.
-
Hand assembly is included for Signature and Heirloom packages. Essential packages may add hand assembly for an additional fee. Assembly includes gluing, lining, embellishments, ribbon tying, envelope stuffing, and affixing postage (stamps provided by you).
-
We stuff but do not seal the outer envelopes to give you full control over mailing.
Specialty finishes or complex suites may require longer lead times. All vendor costs are billed separately as pass-through expenses, ensuring transparency and full customization.

Rush Orders
Rush orders may be accommodated based on availability and complexity. Projects started less than 3 months before your mail date may incur additional rush fees from Paperkat Design and/or our vendors.

Cancellations & Returns
-
Design fees are non-refundable.
-
Vendor costs may be partially refundable depending on order status.
-
Once items are printed, cut, or assembled, no refunds are available, and full payment is due.

Rights & Usage
All designs—chosen or not—remain the property of Paperkat Design, LLC. We may photograph and share your project for marketing purposes, with all personal details hidden. Your chosen design will not be reused for other clients.

Timeline
On average, custom wedding invitation suites take about 16 weeks from design to completion. This ensures every piece is carefully crafted and assembled to perfection.
