Our Process

Consultation

  • During the consultation, you will meet with the designer who will create your design. (and her sister too! lol)

  • All information relevant to your event will be discussed. (Date, place, time, # of invites, production process, timelines, etc.)

  • We will also discuss the design elements you want. (The colors, the style or theme, products like enclosures, cardstocks, or any accessories like ribbon or wax seals)

  • We’ll talk about different printing options. (Digital, Letterpress, Foiling, etc…)

  • You will be able to view our portfolio and the products we work with so that you can see and feel the quality of our work.

  • Based on the details we have collected, we’ll be able to provide you with a more catered estimate within a week of the consultation.

Design Process

  • After the consultation, if you are confident in us and our work, we can move forward to the design phase.

  • To get started, we would require a signed proposal along with 50% of the estimated total given, to cover all design, research, supplies, and samples (if applicable).

  • Based on the information given and decisions made on papers and accessories; we’ll design a couple of different samples for the invitation card first. Within a month’s time, you will be emailed proofs of each design to view and choose from.

  • We’ll accommodate a couple of rounds of revisions to the chosen design. Any changes made thereafter will be subject to a flat fee per revision.

  • Then once a final design and setup have been chosen for the invite card, we will design the coordinating items that are included in your suite; like

    • Response Card and Response Envelope (return address only)

    • Additional insert cards (reception, accommodations, etc.),

    • Tags and Labels

    • Outer Envelopes (return address and your guests’ addresses)

  • You will receive emailed proofs of each design to look over and advise of any changes needed.

  • Complete Samples of the chosen designs can be ordered if the timeline allows. (excluding specialty printing)

    • We need adequate time to order prints and supplies from the vendors, assemble the invite suite, and present it all to you

Production

  • To start production, we’ll require sign-offs for each final approved design (we will send via Adobe for e-signature) and the remaining balance due on the final invoice.

    • Any additional charges or changes to the scope of work will be revised on the final invoice

  • Once payment and signed docs are received; all supplies will be ordered, the paper will be put to print, cut to size, and then assembly can begin.

  • At this time, we will advise you on the postage needed for your envelopes. Just purchase the stamps and give them to us, so that during the assembly phase, we can affix them to the response and outer envelopes.

  • To ensure you have every opportunity to check the finished product, we can stuff but not seal the outer envelope that holds your invitation. It will be your responsibility to seal and mail them.

Rush Orders

We require at least 14-16 weeks to complete a custom-designed order; however, we may be able to accommodate Rush Orders depending on other current projects at the time. Any projects started less than 3 months before the due date (or mail date), can incur additional rush charges.

Cancellations / Return Policy

We understand circumstances arise and cancellations can occur. So we’ll work with you as best as we can, depending on where we are during the production. Our design fee is non-refundable, however depending on where we are during the production, outside vendor costs may be. Once the orders have been placed, cancellation refunds will be based on returnable items and restocking fees from our vendors. Due to the personalization of the work, if the pieces have already been printed, cut, or assembled, no refund is available.

Rights & Usage Clause

The design chosen is the property of Paperkat Design, LLC. This allows us to photograph and post images of the completed pieces on all social media outlets and the Paperkat Design website portfolio. We will not reuse your design in any other way or display any personal and/or private details of your project. All clients’ personal information will be hidden out of the photos when we post. This includes any sample designs that were not chosen; they remain the sole property of Paperkat Design and can not be used by clients.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We look forward to meeting with you!
